Why Attend DAC 2026
One of Africa's leading residential debate and leadership programmes.
World-class Debate Training
DAC delivers competitive, World-Class debate and public speaking training that most students in Africa don't get access to until much later. Structured argumentation, impromptu speaking, rhetoric, and rebuttal. Over 10 days, you won't just learn how to speak. You'll learn how to think under pressure, and that changes everything.
A network you'll have for a lifetime.
The Dreamers you meet at DAC don't disappear after 10 days. They go on to work in government, law, media, business, and civil society across Rwanda and all over the world. And they stay in your network. 920+ alumni and counting.
Skills your school doesn't teach you
Debate is the foundation, but DAC goes further. Over 10 days, you're trained in leadership, entrepreneurship, financial literacy, career development, and multimedia production. How to lead a team. How to manage money. How to present yourself professionally. Most people don't learn this until their first job. You'll learn it in secondary school.

Voices of Our Alumni
Hear from the leaders who started their journey at Dreamers Academy Camp.
"Our coach told us before camp: you're going to get destroyed. You won't win a single debate. But it's going to be an amazing time. We didn't believe him. We went. We lost every round. One of my teammates cried. Other debaters made fun of us. It was horrible. It was also the beginning of everything. Camp forces you to have this two or three week immersive experience, meeting a lot of different people who you're competitive with, but also very close friends with. I think in some ways that really helps prepare you for the professional world."

""I came as a last-minute volunteer. A friend I hadn't spoken to in almost six years called me and said they were short on people. I expected something small. I didn't even know we had that many debaters in Rwanda. I was scared because it was my first time coaching anyone. But everyone was so welcoming. I made so many friends and I learned a lot. I didn't just teach, I grew. That experience shaped how I think about mentorship and leadership, and it's part of why I'm studying peace and conflict resolution today.""
